Wat Palaad Nature trails

Anyone who has traveled to Chiang Mai believes that one of the destinations is to pay homage to Phra That Doi Suthep, the sacred relic of Chiang Mai, for good fortune.

The trail is easy for beginners interested in trekking and experiencing nature. It's a popular destination for walking, jogging, and exercising throughout the day, with both international and Thai tourists. Some even come here to meditate, relax, and enjoy the view of Chiang Mai from the cliffs within Wat Phalat (Sakitagami), especially in the evenings. This area is frequented by people who come up to reserve a viewing area and check in, making it another landmark of Chiang Mai.

However, along the way up Doi Suthep, many people may not realize there's a beautiful temple hidden amidst the forest. Some may have seen the temple sign but simply drove past it.

While there's no evidence of when the temple was built, it's estimated to be hundreds of years old, based on the various structures within the temple. For a time, it was abandoned, but was renovated around 1991 to become a temple and meditation center.
